What membership will offer

These are the plans of the founding group. The order depends on the survey answers.

  • Closed sessions with peers

About twenty practitioners, by invitation, under the Chatham House Rule, first in Astana and Almaty. The attendance list stays confidential.

  • Data on the profession

Roles, team sizes, tools and pay in Kazakhstan, from surveys answered by members.

  • A standard you can cite

A published standard of good practice that supports your decisions on suppliers and contracts.

  • A credential that belongs to you

Certification of individuals against the standard, planned for a later stage. The certificate stays valid when you change employer.

  • Practical learning

Master classes and courses on the topics members choose, prepared with universities. Members will teach some of the modules and be paid for it.

  • Recognition of the profession

A public register of certified professionals, open to any employer.

Planned after registration

Supplier qualification, with paid work for members

  • The association will qualify suppliers against published criteria, at levels that suit small and large companies.
  • The supplier pays for the audit.
  • Members with the right experience will be paid to take part in the audits and will see how another company works.
  • Organisations can commission their supplier audits from the association and consult the register of qualified suppliers.
  • Each audit has a panel of at least three people independent of the supplier.

Who can join

Membership is individual. It is open to anyone whose work is procurement or depends on it, on the buying side or on the selling side.

Organisations that employ procurement people can support the association as institutional partners, without a vote.
